Unternehmensgründer von Coppenrath & Wiese

History & Vision

At the beginning of the 1970s, two cousins, businessman Aloys Coppenrath and confectioner Josef Wiese, had a vision: they wanted to produce cakes and gateaux and sell them throughout Germany via food retailers.

It all started with a revolutionary idea.

“Blast freezing” is the magic word: the two cousins, whose families can look back on over 200 years of confectionery tradition, freeze their products immediately after production at arctic temperatures to ensure that they arrive freshly baked at the customer's - a revolutionary idea at the time.
